People Hail Green line And Blue line Metro Bus Services In Rawalpindi & Islamabad

People from different walks of life have hailed the Green line & Blue line metro bus service in the twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi.

Talking to Radio Pakistan: They also said these international standard services have benefited a lot to people who are unable to afford their private conveyance & hesitate using Public Bus Service due to poor service & mismanagement. Employees of different public and private sector organizations and working class lauded the step as public friendly, providing the citizens with a respectful travelling without any hassle and chaos.

Tourists especially appreciated the Green Blue line line metro bus services as they calling names of important spots which helps them reach different destinations accurately & affordably.

Students also hailed the step as very beneficial as it has reduced cost of their daily travelling & as they reach educational institutions easily.  Olso Female passengers welcomed the initiative by the government saying the service is very safe & secure for them. Patients & their attendees who visit PIMS hospital also hailed the intiative. The passengers also demanded that the service should-be extended to other areas of the twin cities.

CDA To Hire Buses From NRTC To Ply On 13 Metro Routes

ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority CDA has changed its decision to obtain over 150 buses for 13 new routes from private firms & decided that buses would be hired from the National Radio & Telecommunication Corporation NRTC.

Agreement with NRTC for plying the new 200 electric buses on 13 routes in Islamabad is in the final stages, After agreement. NRTC is bound to start services within 90 days CDA Chairman Noorul Amin Mengal tweeted on Friday.

Sources more said: Soon both parties would sign an agreement in this regard. Later the CDA after cancelling the bid. Had decided to call bids afresh. However, sources said that when the matter was brought to the notice of the incumbent chairman, he directed the transport wing of the civic agency to explore options to get buses from government owned NRTC.

Then, a couple of meetings were held between both organisations and NRTC agreed to ply over 150 buses on 13 routes. Soon we will sign an agreement in this regard & the home work is almost complete, said an official of CDA.

No metro bus service from Peshawar Morr to airport available at night

Prime Minister Mian Shehbaz Sharif last year had directed the CDA to launch new metro bus services on 13 routes. Earlier. The prime minister had also inaugurated three metro bus services: Green Line, Orange Line,  and Blue Line. The buses that are plying on the 3 routes belong to the CDA.

However: under the new arrangement for plying buses on 13 routes, the CDA had decided that instead of procuring buses, it will hire services of a private bus company now NRTC which will ply 150 buses. The firm would-be paid against each Km of travel.

According to a study: the 13 routes include the 1 from Police Foundation Orange Line Station to Metro Red Line Faiz Ahmed Faiz Station in I-8, Allama Iqbal Station to Red Line Potohar Station. Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (Pims) to Secretariat, D-12 to G-10, F-11 to Red Line F-8 Station, G-11 to Pims, Aabpara to Tramri Chowk, Nilor to Khanna Pul, Pirwadhai Chowk to Faizabad, B-17 to 26 Number Chungi & I-16 to 26 Number.

Bus ticket price minimum per station is Rs 40 Currently (change subject)

 Timings 

No metro service to airport during night

Metro Bus Daily running 06:00Am to 10:00 Pm weekly 7 days .People have-been complaining that there is no bus service available for Peshawar Mor Faiz Ahmed Faiz Station to Airport after 10:00pm.

Before 10:00pm, people can use the metro Isb bus service from Faiz Ahmed Faiz Station to N-5 G.T. Road, from where they will get shuttle service to the airport. Even though. The shuttle service will ply round the clock from airport to G.T. Road, the metro bus service from Peshawar Mor to G.T. Road faces closure after 10pm.
